ProActive HVAC services designed and installed a complete heat recovery Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) air conditioning system for this high end two story retail store in Jermyn Street, London.
The design needed to include comfort requirements, a high end finish look, and the installation had to be compliant with the landlords ground source water condensing system via heat exchange plate at flow rates of only 0.5kg/s and temperatures higher than the arrange condenser system at 37-45°C heating / 8-14.5°C cooling.
Location and space was an issue for the client as they needed to maximise retail area, retain high ceiling heights and maintain stock room and staff facilities on site. This meant that we needed to design and install a highly efficient heating/cooling system that was small, quiet and had a compact ducted system serving two levels that was able to operate on the low condenser flow rates whilst coping with the restricted space available.
After a detailed assessment of the site and conditions we worked closely with the Mitsubishi technical team to come up with a sensible design that would tick all the boxes.
We fine-tuned a water cooled condensing unit to operate with the available heat exchange plate flow rates. A Mitsubishi VRF system and the associated components to and from the exchange plate were installed within their small plant room space which serviced all areas on both floors. A total of 19.6Kw indoor heating /cooling was achieved operating at 78% diversity.
The project was part of a brand new retail development and ProActive HVAC services worked closely with the building management, building facilities team and other contractors to a closely managed project timetable.
With the initial installation completed, ProActive HVAC services have been retained to provide a regular maintenance program to look after the system and eliminate any problems before they occur.
