Read about the Bluegroup Retail Ligne Roset case study.
The renowned shop fitting company from which ProActive Commercial Maintenance originated, Bluegroup Retail, is routinely called upon to fulfil a wide range of design and refurbishment assignments for all manner of prestigious clients – and its recent linkup with Ligne Roset was no different.
The luxury French designer furniture brand contacted Bluegroup Retail when its concession within the iconic London department store, Heal’s, needed to be relocated and upgraded. Heal’s is nothing less than one of the UK’s most prestigious interior design stores – indeed, its history of designing, making and selling furniture goes back two centuries.
Heal’s has long been associated with only the very best in visionary interior design, playing a major part in the last 150 years’ most influential design movements, including Arts and Crafts in the 1890s, 1930s Bauhaus Modernism and the Scandinavian Design wave of the 1950s. It went without saying, then, that this was an important assignment for Bluegroup Retail.
It was when Ligne Roset learned that it would be moving from the department store’s first to second floor that it connected with Bluegroup Retail, with the two firms subsequently working closely on the specification of the upgraded concession. The decision was made between these parties, for example, to give the whole department a more welcoming and open feel by introducing the Living Expression Drift Oak planks of the flooring company, Pergo, throughout the second floor.
Mike Peach, surveyor and estimator at Bluegroup Retail, commented: “The Ligne Roset department is very popular within the store and thus noted as a high traffic area, so the key specifications were that the floor had to be hard-wearing, as well as aesthetically pleasing… it was decided that Pergo laminate flooring achieved everything required to meet the brief.”
The flooring is just one aspect to be affected by the full refit program that Bluegroup Retail has been carrying out across all floors of the Tottenham Court Road store over the last 18 months. The interesting spaces and refreshed experience for the store’s customers that has resulted is just one more demonstration of the company’s design and refurbishment expertise and attention to detail that have helped it to win so many such assignments in the first place.
